Christmas comes to Beam Park!

The Mayor of Havering, Cllr Michael Deon-Burton was guest of honour at a Christmas lunch with Sycamore Trust UK, hosted by Countryside at their Beam Park development, which straddles the boroughs of Havering and Barking & Dagenham.

The lunch took place a couple of days before Christmas, and was attended by young people, parents and staff from both Countryside and Sycamore Trust.

Cllr Deon-Burton chatted with the young people and their parents before joining them for a traditional Christmas lunch with all the trimmings, provided by Countryside, who are committed to engaging with local communities and charities.

Beam Park is a £1bn regeneration scheme being delivered by Countryside and L&Q that is transforming the former Ford manufacturing plant into a new and vibrant destination spanning 29-hectares and comprising 3,000 new homes. The site will have extensive facilities including a proposed new c2c railway station, two schools, retail spaces, a gym, a nursery, a multi-faith centre and two state-of-the-art energy centres.

Robert Wilkinson, Managing Director, Partnerships South (East), Countryside, commented: “We had a great time hosting the Sycamore Trust and the families it supports at Beam Park and were so pleased to treat them to a Christmas lunch. Christmas is a time for giving back, and we’re proud to be supporting local charities and people who are an essential part of the local community, as part of our commitment to the area.”

Steve Dixon, from Sycamore Trust UK said; “We really appreciate the efforts that Countryside staff have made to make us very welcome and it’s clear that our young people really enjoyed the day.  We know that Countryside are here for the long-term, so we’re hoping that we will be able to do plenty more together in the future.”
