Double success!

Tuesday 3rd December was the International Day of Disabled People and we were able to take part in both the Havering and the Barking & Dagenham activities.  The Havering IDDP took place at the Salvation Army in Romford, where Autism Ambassador Alex Rowley was among the speakers.

Later in the day, the action moved to Dagenham & Redbridge FC, which hosted the Barking IDDP celebrations.  Autism Ambassador Robert Lamb spoke before the Adult LD group entertained us with their rendition of Don't Stop Believing by Journey.  As ever, it was a terrific celebration of different ability, epitomised by the presence of Brock Whiston, local girl and GB para-swimmer, who set a new world record to win gold in the Women’s 200m Individual Medley SM8 at the World Para Swimming Championships in September
