Flag happy!

Blue skies, but no breeze!

World Autism Awareness Week got off to the best possible start with a terrific flag raising ceremony at Barking Town Hall today.  Clear blue skies greeted the large crowd that attended as Sycamore's Steve Dixon introduced the gathering, followed by the leader of Barking & Dagenham council, Darren Rodwell, who spoke about the importance of making sure that no-one in the borough was left behind.

Cllr Maureen Worby also addressed the crowd before handing the microphone to Mayor Sanchia Alasia, who has been an enthusiastic supporter of all our activities in the past year.  Once the speeches had concluded, it was time to raise the flag, which was emblazoned with the Sycamore logo and the Dare to be Different hashtag.  Regrettably the only thing missing was a breeze, but the flag will flutter proudly outside the Town Hall until the end of Autism Awarness Week.
