It's a family affair!

It was a real family affair in Romford last Sunday as two mammoth fund raising attempts came to a finish at the same time.  Paul Taylor from Romford and brother-in-law Sam Crawford from Benfleet had chosen Autism Awareness Week to raise money for Sycamore Trust UK and they both chose an extraordinary distance for their respective challenges.

Paul, who brought daughter Olivia to our Speak With A Picture project with wife Jemma a couple of years ago, decided to run 100km in seven days, which is just under 64 miles. Paul wanted to help Sycamore Trust because of the support we provided and we were delighted that he chose to fund raise on our behalf.  At the same time, Sam, whom is married to Paul's sister Shanna, decided that he would cycle 50km a day for seven consecutive days, which is a total of over 210 miles.

The two athletes arranged to finish at the same time on Sunday at Rise Park in Romford, crossing the finish line together, with their family on hand to greet them as they finished.  Paul raised an astonishing £2,500 and same also cracked four figures, weighing in with £1,100 and we are eternally grateful to them both.  There are still a few more donations to come so those figures could rise even further!  To support Paul, click on https://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/PaulTaylor255 To donate to Sam's page, click https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/samcrawford01

Fortunately, they had the Bank Holiday on Monday to recover - thanks to Paul and Sam and all their family and friends for their support!
