New project launches this month

Autism Assessment parent support meeting now booking

Are you waiting for an Autism assessment?  We may be able to help.

It can be very challenging and time consuming on the pathway for an autism assessment - the wait for the assessment and diagnosis can be a long one.

During this time, the child is still displaying behaviours and other autism related issues. We are aware that there is no support at this time and, parents can often feel alone and struggling to cope. We have received some funding to support parents at this time with:

  • A pre diagnostic parent support group
  • Support and guidance through the assessment process,
  • Help to understand how the process works and what to expect.
  • One to one support where we can spend a little more time with the family getting to understand their individual needs, discuss their child's behaviours and support with advice and strategies individualised to their child.
  • Signposting to other relevant organisations and services, which can help and support the family

If you live in the boroughs of Barking & Dagenham, Havering and Redbridge and your child is waiting for an autism assessment, then we can provide guidance and support around the assessment process.

Our first pre-diagnosis parent coffee morning will be on Thursday 24th March at 10am in the Autism Hub. Parents must book spaces in advance by emailing familyservices@sycamoretrust.org.uk
