Pottering about!

The Autism Ambassadors had a magical day out on Monday 16th August to the Harry Potter Photographic Exhibition at the London Film Museum in Covent Garden, which displayed some behind-the-scenes photos from the film sets, as well as some screenshots and clips from the films. There was also an opportunity for selfies riding a broom in front of a green screen, against a choice of two backgrounds (the Knight Bus and the Quidditch pitch), as well as a group shot around the phone box that Arthur Weasley and Harry use to get into the Ministry of Magic in Order of the Phoenix.

After a visit to the shop at the exhibition to buy some Butterbeer (a butterscotch-flavoured fizzy soft drink) and souvenirs, the ambassadors went for a boat trip down the Thames from Embankment Pier to North Greenwich, where, on the way to the tube station, they stopped off at a couple of art installations (a colourful stage and floor painting which hosts performances at weekends) and The Tide (a raised walkway leading from the river to near the O2, which, until the end of this summer, has rainbow-coloured stripes on the glass panels at its sides).

The Ambassadors had a fantastic time and all the volunteer ambassadors said they really enjoyed the day!
