Recipe for success!

Matata club returns

Our Matata Club on a Tuesday night in Dagenham continues to go from strength to strength and the young people have settled back in after the summer break with real energy and enthusiasm.

Last week, we asked for memories of their visit to Stubbers in August and some great images were produced.  We were particularly impressed with Harrison's jeep, which brought back memories of the off road driving.

Last night, it was cookery with beef burgers on the menu!

We all love a burger but there’s nothing like making your own.  The assembled youngsters chopped the onions, made patties from mince-meat, added salt, pepper and seasoning before handing them over to Ted on the grill.

Once they were cooked, they added cheese, sauces and the buns before settling down for the all-important taste test.  There was even time for a game of pool afterwards!

Matata Club has been boosted by new volunteers Alice and Lewis, adding to our regular team of Ted, Emma, Ann-Marie & Kent and we’ve got some more great activities planned in the coming weeks.
