Six appeal!

Sycamore Trust UK were one of two charities chosen by Taylor Wimpey London to benefit from their annual fund-raising activities. Taylor Wimpey’s fund-raising efforts centred around a golf day held in September, with proceeds being shared by Sycamore Trust UK and the Redbridge based charity, Dream Factory.

The golf day took place at the beginning of September at the Five Lakes Golf & Country Club, near Maldon in Essex and it was a terrific day with well over 100 Taylor Wimpey guests from the building trade playing golf before a wonderful dinner in the evening. The dinner was preceded by a short presentation from each of the two charities represented, with Avril Mills from Dream Factory and Steve Dixon from Sycamore Trust outlining the services that each organisation could offer and why the support of those in attendance was so important.

After dinner, we were treated to a brilliant comedian followed by an auction and raffle that raised several thousand pounds. After all the contributions were collected, our contribution from the event was an amazing £6,058, which we were delighted to receive. Sycamore CEO Chris Gillbanks accompanied Steve to Taylor Wimpey’s HQ in Brentwood this week to collect the cheque from Peter Sebry, Production Director at Taylor Wimpey London.

Sycamore’s Steve Dixon said; “we were delighted to be invited by Taylor Wimpey to be one of the charities to benefit from their annual golf day and we are both humbled and grateful for the amount that was raised. We’d like to thank Peter Sebry and Abi Gray for all their work in organising the day and they can be sure in the knowledge that the money raised will help us to maintain the vital products and services we provide for the autistic community.”
