So Close!

Trust nominated for national award

We fell short of national recognition at The Children and Young People's Award's last night but the overwhelming feeling amongst us all was of our pride at being nominated for such a prestigious award.  Our wonderful Parenting Pathways project, was among the finalists in the CYP awards ceremony in Fulham.

The CYP awards evening was attended by almost 600 guests from all over the UK and was presented by actress and TV presenter Zoe Salmon. Alan Dedicoat, who is the "Voice of the Balls" on the National Lottery and voice of Strictly Come Dancing, was on announcing duties for all the finalists.

The Sycamore Trust UK was nominated in the Safeguarding category, for the initiative that has made the biggest contribution to prevent and protect children and young people from abuse and neglect.  The award went to the Children's Society for their splendid Greater Manchester Missing Service which picks up the pieces in Manchester when a child goes missing from care.

Congratulations go to a superb programme, and although we were disappointed not to win, there's no shame in finishing behind such a wonderful project.  We'll be back in 2019!
