The first Parent Support Group of 2021 took place yesterday and it was a resounding success! Due to the lockdown restrictions, we have been unable to hold our regular coffee mornings for a few months now, and as we don’t know when we’ll be able to welcome visitors this year, we felt it was high time we held a virtual meeting.
We set aside an hour yesterday and it over-ran by about 20 minutes, so the next one will be an hour and a half. The majority of people who dialled in yesterday were parents who were accessing our services for the first time and many of them expressed an interest in maintaining contact and supporting each other, which is always wonderful to hear.
The common theme that came across loud and clear was that sense of isolation that parents feel, so we will make sure to organise another virtual Parent Support Group in March. Please make sure you check our website or social media channels for the date.
