We were delighted to kick off Autism Awareness Week with a donation from Barking Abbey School. At the beginning of the first national lockdown, the school's Design and Technology department began using their facilities to make PPE in a disinfected environment. A number of their DT staff and other volunteers helped to make and distribute the visors to local healthcare locations.
Staff and students helped to make visors for use in local care homes and nursing homes and they decided to donate surplus cash to local charities, including Sycamore Trust. We'd like to thank everyone at Barking Abbey School for their generosity!
