What an achievement!

Marathon success for Andrew!

What a fantastic effort from Andrew Ghagan, who completed the London Marathon at the weekend in a time of 5 hours 47 minutes.  Although he has run a marathon in the past, Andrew had been in training for several months and it was a wonderful effort to complete the 26 mile course, as well as raising funds for the Sycamore Trust.

Andrew decided to run the marathon as a way of thanking the Trust for all the work we have done with his nephew Rico, who was among the first intake on our Speak With A Picture project for pre-school children with communication difficulties.

Our pictures show Andrew on Blackheath before the race began and with his medal at the end, where he looks remarkably relaxed, given that he's just run 26 miles.  And just to prove that it was no big deal, Andrew was back at work the following day, having raised over £1,200 for the Trust.  We'd like to thank him for all his efforts and congratulate him once again for a magnificent achievement.
