On the right tracks!

Ambassadors visit Greater Anglia

On Monday, the Sycamore Trust Autism Ambassadors were in Ilford to deliver the first in a series of presentations to staff at Greater Anglia Railways, designed to raise awareness of ASD.

Greater Anglia operates the trains between London Liverpool Street and East Anglia and has a number of depots and offices in the area.  The first presentation took place at the Ilford Depot and a number of staff attended.

The presentations are part of Greater Anglia's commitment to raise awareness of hidden disabilities with their staff. Academy host Alex Thompson was delighted with the session on Monday which proved hugely popular with staff.

Alex said "We do disability training for those with visual disabilities such as wheelchair users and partially sighted peple, but we needed to do more for hidden disabilities.  The feedback has been really positive with lots of good comments.  Everyone enjoyed it and learned a lot from the day"

Over the course of the summer, the ambassadors will be delivering their presentation to staff at the Norwich Crown Point Depot, the Colchester Depot and the Greater Anglia training academy in Stratford.
