A decade of service and a trip to the zoo!
Some of our youth group members recently enjoyed a fantastic day out at Colchester Zoo thanks to the Jack Petchey Foundation.
Back in the summer we nominated Ted Forecast for a Jack Petchey Leader Award and applied for a linked grant to take a group of young people on a day trip to the zoo. We nominated Ted in recognition of him hitting the milestone of 10 years’ service with Sycamore Trust in 2024.
During that time, Ted has volunteered or worked at several of our youth groups and adult social groups, and he now leads our social group for men aged 18 to 30-years. Suffice to say, our nomination was accepted. Ted was part of the staff/volunteer team that led the day trip, and everyone had a fantastic day. New friendships were forged, and we saw hundreds of animals, large and small!
