Ambassadors in action at BLC
We enjoyed a terrific Autism Awareness training event last week with staff from the London Borough of Barking & Dagenham at the Barking Learning Centre.
The level of engagement from the assorted LBBD staff was off the charts, with lots of interaction throughout and plenty of questions at gthe end of the session.
It's the first in a series of training sessions for Barking & Dagenham staff and if they are all as good as this one, we're really looking forward to the next one!
Here's a selection of comments that we received after the event;
- I learned a lot today about how I can support someone on the spectrum and enjoyed the activities of looking thought different experiences
- The drawing activity is brillant and highlights how frustating it must be for some non verbal autistic people
- I learned about how the 5 senses is a key indicator plus 3 new sense
