Case Study : Nicola's story

When Nicola and her husband Dan first came to us for a one-to-one appointment in 2025, they were at the beginning of their journey with our service looking for support, connection, and a space where they felt understood.

Since that first meeting, Nicola has become a familiar and valued face in our community. She quickly found a place in our regular support group, where she has been able to share her experiences, listen to others, and draw strength from knowing she is not alone in her caring role.

One of the highlights of Nicola's journey has been her involvement in our family activities. She attended our event at Kidspace with her children, where they had the opportunity to relax and have fun in a welcoming environment and, perhaps most importantly, she began building friendships with other parents from the support group. Those connections have extended beyond the sessions themselves, forming a genuine network of mutual support.

Most recently, Nicola was able to take a well-deserved break from her responsibilities as a carer by joining us at our bottomless brunch event. It was a chance to laugh, unwind, and simply enjoy some time for herself a reminder that carers deserve care too.

Nicola's story reflects exactly what our service aims to provide: a warm point of welcome, ongoing community, and meaningful moments of joy and fun along the way.
