Flag day 2026!

Autism Acceptance Week began yesterday and it's always an important time of the year for us at the Sycamore Trust.

This is the time of year when autism goes to the top of the public agenda and allows us a very important platform to discuss the important issues that we deal with every day.

As we have done in the past, we marked the beginning of Autism Acceptance Week by raising our flag outside the town hall in Barking.  We were delighted to welcome several LBBD councillors for the event, including LBBD council leader Dominic Twomey, who spoke about the vital role played in the borough by Sycamore Trust UK.

Once our flag was uo in Barking, there was no time to lose as we headed for Romford, to perform a similar duty outside the town hall in Havering. We were thrilled to meet the Mayor, Cllr Sue Ospreay, and acting Chief Inspector from the Met Police, Charlie Routley, who both spoek about the importance of creating a more inclusive community for neuro diverse people.

Thanks to everyone who came along to support us yesterday!
