We received some fantastic news before Easter that we’re bursting to share with you!
At Sycamore Trust, we’re delighted to announce that we’ve secured funding from the National Lottery Community Fund to launch an incredible Autism Family Service in Barking & Dagenham! It’s been a couple of years since we last offered a family service in B&D, and achieving this has been a true team effort — we poured heart and soul into our bid, and we’re absolutely thrilled to say that we’ve been awarded three years of funding!

Our CEO, Cheryl Kearney, shared her excitement; “It’s been a long time since we’ve been able to provide this kind of support to families in Barking & Dagenham. When I stepped into the CEO role, making this happen was one of my top targets, and we’re so proud that we can now offer a dedicated family service in the borough. This will be a game-changer for families needing support on their journey to diagnosis, navigating the SEND system, or simply looking for a friendly parent/care support group. Huge thanks to the National Lottery Community Fund for making this possible!”
Stay tuned — in the next few weeks, we’ll be sharing all the exciting details about what the service will offer local families. But in the meantime, we’d love for you to join us at our launch event on Friday, 1st May!
Drop by between 10am and 12pm to learn more about our plans and meet our team.
