Masters of the air!

Our third and final day at the Lambourne End Centre for outdoor learning was a mixture of the cerebral and the exhilarating.  Some of our young people began their day with a look around the farm.  Lambourne is a workijng farm, so all the animals have a purpose, and we met many of the pigs, fowl, goats, horses and of course, Hector the ancient tortoise.

While they were looking around the farm, our other group were tackling the zip-wire, which is always great fun and generally has our young people collecting their harness and racing back for another go!

After a quick break, our youngsters enjoyed cycling through the woods, which required a great deal of pedal powerr on another hot and sticky day, while the others got strapped on to the zip-wire and went flying through the air!

After lunch, we finished off with a return to the firing range, to try our hand at crossbow, while the remaining young people looked around the farm.  A busy end to our visit, and it brough the curtain down on three thoroughly enjoyable days.

Huge thanks to all the staff at Sycamore who were on duty throughout and as ever, massive appreciation of all the staff at Lambourne End, who looked after us with care and attention.  We must also register our appreciation to the Essex Youth Trust for their continued support for our summer activities.  Without their help, we simply wouldn't be able to do it!

Final word has to go to the young people themselves who faced every challenge we put in front of them with great enthusiasm, stepped out of their comfort zones and had great fun into the bargain.  See you next year!
