Perfect Day!

On Saturday 7 February, eight Havering Peer Group members accompanied Sycamore Trust staff member Matt to an event at Queen’s Theatre, Hornchurch to take part in a workshop to generate ideas about how to make art and culture in Havering more accessible for people with a disability or neurodiversity. It was an interesting discussion and the Peer Group members made several great suggestions.

The group received free tickets to watch a performance of ‘Perfect Show for Rachel’, which took place before the workshop. They thoroughly enjoyed the show, so all in all, it was a productive and fun afternoon.

The Peer Groups are social groups for adults with an autism diagnosis and those on the waiting list for assessment, who live in Havering. They are part of our All-Age Autism Service funded by London Borough of Havering and meet once a month from 2pm to 4pm. The members also occasionally attend community-based events like the one described here.
