Plans underway for Autism Acceptance Week 2026!

Christmas is some way off, but we're already looking ahead to next spring and another Autism Acceptance Week at the end of March. This is now firmly in place as the most important week of the year for us at Sycamore Trust, when we try and ensure that we raise awareness of autism, whilst at the same time, raising important funds for Sycamore Trust.

For the eighth year in a row, we will be inviting schools and businesses, together with residents young and old, to get involved with our Dare to be Different campaign. At the same time, we will be doing everything we can to spread the word and raise empathy and understanding.

Autism is a hidden disability and is frequently misunderstood and Autism Acceptance Week gives us the chance to celebrate inclusion and raise awareness at the same time. During the build up to Autism Acceptance Week, we will be attending several school coffee mornings to talk to parents and school assemblies to talk to the students. This is a part of the job that we enjoy, and our school assemblies are presented young adults with lived experience of autism.

We will also be holding another sponsored walk, which we have done every year since 2022, as well as inviting everyone to join in with our Dare to be Different campaign and dress up in something different on 27th March 2026, whilst donating £1 to Sycamore Trust.
