Our very own marathon man, Billy Tyler, was among the 59,000 athletes who took part in the TCS London Marathon on Sunday. Billy, a primary school teacher from Redbridge, decided to run the marathon and raise money for Sycamore Trust at the same time!
Prior to the race, Billy said;
"I’m now in my fourth year as a primary school teacher, working in an incredible special needs school in Redbridge. I’ve had the privilege of teaching so many wonderful children with autism and other additional needs each one unique, inspiring and full of potential. Working closely with their families has shown me just how important the right support is and how charities like Sycamore Trust UK make a real difference to everyday lives. Every donation will go directly towards supporting local families, building understanding in schools and creating a more inclusive community across Essex and London."

Well, Billy committed to the training and took his place on the start line in Greenwich Park on Sunday. Not only that, he completed the race, which is a wonderful achievement in itself, in a brilliant time; 6 hours, 18 minutes.
Huge thanks to Billy for all his efforts - it's not just about the race in front of all the cameras, it's about the miles and miles of training befiore the event as well. So far, he has raised the magnificent total of £1,300 and his page is still open if you'd like to add to that figure.
