				Social Communication training set for November
				
				The fifth in our series of parent & carer workshops has been scheduled for 25th November.
Entitled Social Communication & Play, it is a training workshop for parents and carers of children aged 2-16.
The subject matter will include;
- Understand how social communication and play develop from early childhood to adolescence
 
- Joint attention (sharing focus)
 
- Turn-taking and conversation skills
 
- Understanding others’ perspectives (Theory of Mind)
 
- Adapting communication to context      
 
- Recognise common communication and play challenges in ASD      
 
- Learn age-appropriate intervention strategies      
 
- Gain practical tools for home, school, and therapy settings      
 
- Why Play Matters      
 
- Developmental Differences: Ages 2–16      
 
- Strategies to Support Social Communication      
 
- Play-Based Interventions      
 
- Building Peer Interaction      
 
- Supporting Communication in Play      
 
- Role of Adults
 
The workshop takes place on Tuesday 25th November at the Sycamore Trust UK premises at 27-29 Woodward Road, Dagenham RM9 4SJ. The no 62 bus stops right outside and we are within a few minutes walk from Becontree tube station. The event will start at 10am and to finish at 2pm.
