Starting over!

The Sycamore Trust Autism Ramblers have completed six walks so far, and we're going back to the start this week for the seventh in our series of autism-friendly walks.

We began our walking group back in April in Parsloes Park in Dagenham and that is where we'll be this coming Thursday as we start another series of our Walking Group.

If you'd like to join in, you'd be more than welcome - this Thirsday's walk starts at 11am and if you'd like to know more, drop a line to lynn.chapman@sycamoretrust.org.uk

The schedule for the rest of the summer/autumn period is as follows;

Thur 17th July (11am) Parsloes Park, Dagenham

Tues 19th Aug (1.30pm) Raphael Park, Romford

Thur 4th Sep (11am) Valentines Park, Ilford

Tues 16th Sep (11am) Eastbrookend Country Park, Dagenham

Thur 2nd Oct (11am) Hornchurch Country Park

Tues 14th oct (11am) Hainault Forest

Our Sycamore Trust Autism Ramblers group is funded by Transport for London in partnership with The London Marathon Foundation. Our walking club will create support networks and friendship groups among parents and autistic adults. The walkers will be able to get out into their local community, exercise and also support each other with coping mechanisms and signpost each other to relevant local services. Walking clubs provide a great opportunity to meet new people and make friends, which can enhance social connections and combat loneliness, which is common among the autistic community. We are blessed with some magnificent open spaces in Barking, Havering and Redbridge and we will be visiting them all in the next few months!
