Another hospital appointment!

Ambassadors visit Queens Hospital

The Autism Ambassadors have already had a very busy week delivering no less than six presentations in three days! On Monday they were very kindly invited in by Queen’s Hospital to deliver two presentations to outpatients staff in the morning and Havering Adult College to give a presentation at the Brittons Centre in Rainham to teaching assistants from several schools across Havering in the evening.

On the morning of Tuesday 9th April the ambassadors gave a presentation organised by Havering SENDIASS to staff from several schools across Havering and the Children’s Services and Direct Payments departments of the council at MyPlace in Harold Hill. In the afternoon they delivered a second presentation to library staff at Barking Learning Centre.

The Ambassadors received excellent feedback from all sessions. They will be returning to Queen’s Hospital for another series of presentations to outpatients staff in the autumn, and at the Brittons Centre presentation on Monday, they received a request to deliver a presentation to a Havering school.

The Ambassadors & Jobcentre G4S staff

The Ambassadors were back on the job and on their guard on Wednesday 10th April with a presentation to the G4S security staff at Barking Jobcentre. This was a unique and excellent opportunity for the ambassadors to meet and interact with what is, for many, the first point of contact at the Jobcentre. All nine G4S staff members who attended the presentation said they really enjoyed it and have never seen training like it before! This was reflected in the feedback the ambassadors received.
