Bourne to be wild!

Summer plans revealed

We've got some important news to share as we look ahead to the summer.  We're very excited to announce that we're planning our outdoor adventure week at Lambourne End, in the Havering countryside just outside Romford.

At present, all we're asking parents and carers to do is save the dates, which are Monday 22nd to Friday 26th August.  Don't contact us for more details just yet because we are still putting the finishing touches to our plans, but rest assured, we'll make sure all the information is available just after the Easter break

Lambourne End centre for outdoor learning is an amazing place and we're confident our young people will love the activities we've got lined up.  We're not looking at a residential stay this year, but there are going to be loads of activities that our young people will be very familiar with and some new challenges as well.

Many of our young people will have tackled activities like archery and climbing before, but there will be some terrific new tasks, including an amazing zip wire, which we're all looking forward to and a very exciting ropes course that will test all our participants. Best of all, Lambourne is a working farm, so there will be plenty of opportunities to meet some of the permanent residents, including lambs, pigs and an enormous tortoise!

As always, the emphasis will be on teamwork, communication, building self-esteem and improving those social skills that we spend so much time working on throughout the year.  Most importantly, we expect the week to be great fun!

At present, parents and carers wishing to send their young people for the week or odd days need take  no action, other than marking those dates in your diary, but look out for more news after the Easter holidays.
