Chamber date!

Dame Margaret shares the stage with Sycamore presentation

The Dare to be Different campaign was at the heart of a presentation made by Sycamore Trust at the Barking and Dagenham Chamber of Commerce meeting last night.

Sycamore Marketing Manager Steve Dixon spoke briefly about the importance of raising awareness of Autism Spectrum Disorders in the local area and the role that the #DaretobeDifferent campaign will play.

The BDCC mmeeting took place at Dagenham & Redbridge FC and was well attended, although the star attraction was clearly Dame Margaret Hodge, MP for Barking and patron of the Sycamore Trust.  Dame Margaret spoke about a number of local issues, most notably transport links and crime, but she also shared her views on the confusion surrounding the Brexit process which has dominated the main news agenda recently.

A number of people present last night have pledged their support to #DaretobeDifferent and Steve explained why it is important.  He said "We were delighted to get the opportunity to talk to the local business community about what we do, because all our services are aimed at the local community. It's really important that we get our message across - every pound raised by Dare to be Different will be spent in the local area."
