Face the music!

With the first anniversary of the 2020 lockdown fast approaching, we have some good news for those members of the autistic community that have struggled in the last twelve months because of the widespread wearing of face masks.

As many on the spectrum will know, some people with ASD read facial expressions before responding and as so many people are now wearing face masks, it's very difficult to read emotions from a person's facial expressions.

However, we have a solution, thanks to our friends at Sew London Project, a Barking based social enterprise that has designed and created lip-reading face masks made from transparent vinyl, allowing a persons face to be visible while they are speaking.

Thanks to Sew London and funding from BD Giving, we have a limited supply of the face masks and best of all, they are free of charge!  We're not open to the public yet, so if you'd like a face mask, drop a line to marketing@sycamoretrust.org.uk,

There is no charge for the masks, but we would accept any donations to cover post and packaging.

Please note, they are not intended to be used by medical professionals.
