It's World Autism Week!

In amongst all the Covid-19 news, you'd be forgiven for overlooking that this is the first day of Autism Awareness Week 2020. We had lots of activity planned and we've had to shelve almost all of it, especially our Dare to be different activity. Nevertheless, even though we can't be out and about in front of people, there's no reason why we can't still acknowledge the importance of Autism Week, as we aim to raise the profile of a condition that is often misunderstood, and regularly overlooked. If you were planning to join in with Dare to be Different day this Friday, please do - even if you're stuck at home, feel free to join in and wear something unusual.

It goes without saying that if you were planning to make a donation to the Sycamore Trust U.K., we hope you will continue to do so, although we understand how many people are focused on other areas at present. http://www.sycamoretrust.org.uk/donate/ is the web address for all the relevant information.

We had planned to raise our flag at Barking Town Hall today and we had loads going on at the Autism Hub this week. We had a big weekend planned as well, as we were taking some young people to see Dagenham & Redbridge in action and we had a big fund raising event planned with River Island in Romford. But it will all have to wait!

In the meantime, in the absence of any new activity, we might post some of last year's events when a lot of people enjoyed having a good laugh and raising money. We look forward to re-arranging all our events for later in the year!
