Jack Petchey Foundation support for youth clubs

It hardly seems possible, but our wonderful Social Survivors programme has been in operation for over three years. The project, which was funded by the Mayor of London’s Young Londoners Fund, began in March 2019 and as a result, we have operated our amazing Alpha youth club in Rainham and our Bravo youth club in Dagenham.

The project focussed on vital life skills, such as travel training and online safety, combined with those essential communication skills like building self esteem and social communication. In the last three years, almost 100 young people have benefitted as a result of the groups and many of them have made extraordinary progress.

Nevertheless, all good things must come to an end, and as we contemplate the way forward, we are delighted to announce that we have received funding from the Jack Petchey Foundation, to enable us to keep the youth clubs open for the summer.

Thanks to the JPF, we’re able to keep the youth clubs in operation until the end of July, and we also have lots of activity planned for the summer holidays to keep the young people entertained. Going forward, we’ll be in touch with parents and carers before the end of August with our plans for the new school year.
