Muddy marvels!
Staff at a Dagenham car repair bodyshop have decided to get down and dirty to raise money for Sycamore!
Fix Auto in Dagenham, on Rainham Road South is part of the Fix Auto network and serves drivers in Barking, Dagenham, Romford and Ilford as well as Hainault, Basildon and Brentwood, and they are preparing to get covered in mud to raise money for Sycamore Trust. Staff at the Dagenham depot have chosen Sycamore as their charity of the year and for their first event, they have entered the Brentwood nuclear run in May, a punishing 12,000 metre race throughout Essex farmland, that involves crawling through ditches, swinging over obstacles, ploughing through mud and going head first into a river. In other words, a normal day out for staff at Fix Auto! And they are doing it for a good cause, as they are aiming to raise money for Sycamore Trust.
Fix Auto have a series of events lined up with the aim of raising vital funds for Sycamore as Group Operations Manager Scott Dunnell explained; “After getting an insight into the Sycamore Trust and the fantastic work they do in the local community, it really was a really simple decision to make in selecting them to be our chosen charity for the year ahead. The work they do helping children, parents and young adults with Autism is truly inspirational and I couldn’t be prouder that the company and all the staff will be throwing everything at it to raise as much money as we can for this terrific charity.”
Sycamore spokesperson Steve Dixon added; “We’re thrilled that the team at Fix Auto have decided to support us this year. Fund raising has been tough lately thanks to the various lockdowns, but thanks to Fix Auto, this year looks like it will be very busy. Everyone seems to be very excited about the mud race and I’m sure it will be great fun. I’m just glad I don’t have to do the washing afterwards!”
