Sycamore Trust UK staff spent a day with employees and shoppers at the Tesco Roneo Corner store last Friday in a bid to raise awareness of our activities, in particular the new Speak With A Picture project, which begins this month.
The collaboration with Tesco came about as part of the promotion for the new SWAP programme. Speak With A Picture is an alternative communication system that helps parents and pre-school children who are struggling with communication skills, but the staff who attended the Tesco visit were delighted to talk about the charity as a whole.
Ann Marie Lyons-Mummery from the Sycamore Trust UK said “we had a terrific day with some wonderful feedback, especially from those parents with children on the spectrum.” The charity also held a collection to raise vital funds. The whole day was such a success, Tesco have invited us to return before Christmas!
